[Iran Press TV] A senior member of a provincial council has been killed in an attack by gunnies in eastern Afghanistan amid the worsening security situation in the war-ravaged country.The ambush targeted Abdullah Ahmadzai while he was traveling in a car in Pashtun-infested Logar Province on Sunday.
Ahmadzai's brother and cousin were also killed and a bodyguard was injured in the fatal attack.
Police have blamed Talibs for the attack.
This comes one day after an attack on a police headquarters in eastern Afghanistan left 15 officers dead in Sharan, the capital of Paktika

The developments come as a leading international think tank says NATO's strategy to break the Taliban in Afghanistan is failing.
