Iraqi army finds mass grave in Mosul
2010-12-20
[Emirates 24/7] The Iraqi army on Sunday found a mass grave in the northern city of djinn-infested Mosul that contained the bodies of 11 people thought to have been killed in 2005, police said.

Captain Ali Khodr of the local police said the grave was found in the Intissar district of the city 350 kilometres (220 miles) north of Storied Baghdad.

In 2005 gun-hung tough guys controlled a large part of the city, and coppers, soldiers and people suspected of working with the US forces were targeted for murder on a daily basis.

I happened to be in a class at Ft. Bragg in 1970 which included a field-grade who'd been involved in digging up that mass grave outside Hue. The question was what to do if our RVN counterparts began mistreating a VC prisoner. His response was not met with the standard, "Well, that's a technique, but the school solution is...." In fact, the instructors didn't like it at all. Or, more likely, they couldn't admit they did.
You will be shocked, I know, to find that no sillyvilian has ever heard of it, and no liberal, having been informed, gives a rodent's butt about it. Unlike My Lai, Hue does not exemplify anything.

#2  Like the "mass grave" we found outside of Hue in 1968.

#1  "Mass grave" makes you think of hundreds or thousands of bodies. Eleven is sad enough but I think I'd call that a "group burial" instead of a mass...
