Car Bomb Explodes in Tabasco |
2011-01-20 |
Don't really know what to make of this. Two more similar explosions took place in Nuevo Leon Wednesday, well to the north, both of which also used fireworks as the explosive. The car bombs in Juarez this past summer and others in Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas used Tovex, which is a commercial dynamite used by mining companies in northern Mexico and by PEMEX, the Mexican state owned petroleum enterprise. For a map, click here A car packed with fireworks exploded in Villahermosa, Tabasco Wednesday morning, according to Mexican press accounts. The 1973 Datsun sedan was destroyed by the blast which killed its two occupants and wounded two others. The vehicle had license tags from Chiapas, a southern state which borders Guatamala. The explosion took place near the intersection of calles Carmelo Gomez and Octavio Camera. Two nearby vehicles were damaged. Reports do not say the vehicle was a car bomb, however. A total of 63 fireworks were found at the scene, but reports do not say what type or condition. |
