17 Die in northern Mexico
Seventeen individuals were murdered in ongoing drug and gang related violence in northern Mexican states, including an unidentified Juarez police officer ambushed in Juarez Tuesday.

- Two unidentified individuals were shot to death in two separate incidents in Juarez Monday afternoon, according to the Mexican news daily La Polaka.
- A man was shot to death aboard his Jeep Cherokee near the intersection of calles Mezquital and Alpistle in the Villas de Salvarcar colony.
- A man was shot to death and another wounded in an attack near the corner of calles Zaragoza and Desierto del Sahara in the Parajes de Oriente colony. The victims were shot aboard a Dodge Durango SUV.
- Three unidentified men were shot to death in Juarez Monday. The shooting occurred at a garage near the intersection of calles Anahuac and Coyoacan in the Cuauhtemoc colony where armed suspects entered the building and shot the victims.
- Five unidentified individuals were shot to death in three different shootings in Juarez Monday evening, according to the Mexican news daily La Polaka.
- Two men were shot aboard a Dodge Ram pickup truck near the corner of calle Pacheco Parra and Toronja Roja in the Infonavit Solidaridad colony.
- A woman was shot to death and a bystander was wounded and later died near the intersection of Avenida Juarez and Vicente Guerrero in the Zona Centro. The female victim was aboard a Chevrolet Astro van when she was shot. The bystander was presumably hit by stray gunshots.
- A man was shot in front of his residence in the La Perla colony.
- An unidentified armed suspect was wounded in a shootout and pursuit in Juarez Tuesday. The suspect was aboard a stolen Chevrolet Impala sedan when he opened fire on Mexican federal agents on Avenida Valentin Fuentes, sparking a pursuit that ended with his arrest near the corner of Avenida La Raza and Puente Al Reves. The suspect ended his flight after he had been shot in the leg.
- A Juarez municipal police officer was shot to death Tuesday in Juarez. The victim was aboard his Chevrolet Blazer II when armed suspects riding in a vehicle opened fire on him and killed him. The shooting took place near the intersection of calles Oscar Flores and Lopez Mateos. Reports hint the officer was shot with AK-47 assault rifles.
- An unidentified power company employee was shot to death Tuesday in Juarez. The victim was aboard his official vehicle near the intersection of Bulgaria and Nigeria in the Oasis Revolucion colony when he was shot.
- An unidentified man was shot to death in Juarez Tuesday night. The victim was at a hair salon near the corner of Avenida 16 de Septiembre and Calle Santos Degollado in the Zona Centro when he was shot.
- Three unidentified teenage girls were found stabbed to death in Parral, Chihuahua Tuesday. The victims, ages 17, 15 and 14, were found between the Las Ãnimas and La Gomera communities in Paarral. The girls were reported missing Sunday.
- An unidentified man was found shot to death on a highway near Juarez Wednesday. The victim was found shot more than 30 times with AK-47 assault rifles on the Porvenir-Juarez highway.
- An unidentified man was found beaten to death in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Wednesday. The victim was found near the intersection of calles Sierra de Almoloya and 55th south of the city. The tool used to murder the man was found nearby.
- An unidentified man was found beaten to death in Mexicali, Baja California. The victim was found in the Ladrillera colony in the Zona de Norte del Valle de Mexicali.
- An unidentified man was shot to death just memonets after his release from prison. Angel Gonzalez Aguilera, 42, was near the corner of calles Quito and Puerto Rico after walking just one block after he was released from prison before he was shot. Police found 9mm spent shell casings at the scene.
