BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Curfews and traffic bans imposed in the provinces of al-Anbar, al-Diwaniya and Kirkuk were lifted on Friday as life came back to normal following mass protests in Iraq demanding better services and living conditions. Violence that erupted during the protests left dozens demonstrators and security men wounded. Meanwhile, Brig. Sarhad Qader, the director of the Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD), told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that an improvised explosive device went off in a village in the district of Taza, (25 km) southern Kirkuk, near an Iraqi army patrol but left no casualties or losses. |
