NATO hits rebels by mistake - Again |
2011-04-08 |
This was about 1030 am local time on Apr 7. It was near Ajdabiya. The rebels had some sort of armored vehicles (te rebels called them 'tanks') apparently refurbished equipment taken from an old Libyan army post. This is the second such incident. The earlier one was on April 2 in same general region. |

#5 Blue Force Tracker might be the answer. Oh wait.... there ARE no "Blue Forces" in this one. Sorry. |

#4 Since I believe the rebels are at least as much of a long-term threat to us as Daffy's people, I really can't get too upset about this. |

#3 IIRC, the procedure in Afghanistan is to say that there was an ISAF strike that accidentally killed someone followed by a second announcement that the aircraft were, indeed, American, which then causes the Europress to snicker about our awful aim and murderous intent, blah blah. So: whose insignia were on these aircraft? |

#2 Well, they're aren't going to have IFF, but one would think they'd do some sort of top-markings and let NATO know. Amateur hour, all the way around. |

#1 I'm waiting for the Fwench and UBB (used to be British) to condemn IDF attacks on Gaza. |
