#12 Strong candidates. PIMF! |

#11 Much as we need string candidates on the national level, it's more important that political newcomers like Congressman West have time to get experience and build a political resume as well as whatever they did to demonstrate ability and character in their previous careers. Sarah Palin would have been better shielded from leftwing nonsense had she at least a full term as governor under her belt before stepping up as McCain's VP candidate -- anyone, even one not so beautiful and articulate as she, would have been labelled "just a pretty face". The skills of running a campaign and responding to effectively to scurrilous charges are best not learnt on the fly. I want my guy to win on proven ability and principle, not hope and change -- part of the current president's problems is that he simply hasn't the experience to recognize the problems he's facing, let alone the tools necessary to fix said problems. I'm praying Governor Guiliani decides to throw his hat in the ring again. He'd tear President Obama a couple of new ones while deciding how to have his eggs for breakfast. |

#10 Kerry proves one can actually SHOOT and KILL a wounded enemy combatant and become a US Senator. LTC(Ret) West may have a chance. He never killed anyone, he only threatened to castrate via 9mm. |

#9 CrazyFool, it is quite appearant to me that the people on this board predominately understand the difference between right and wrong. I am impressed by the Rantburg on an hourly basis - seeing all of you fine souls here didacting if for the only purpose of fulfilling our Oath, or leaving a better nation than what we have today. I cannot impart to you the seriousness of my quest, nor may you be able to see it, yet I will tell you it will be for the good of OUR Nation and of use to good powers. bman, my post on Cain is here. I Love that man, and all of you who are paying attention to the real news. West was operating in "grey" area of strategy with very little, he did very much. THATS a Leader. Cain as well. YOU are the ones with whom I like to spend my time in the rant - so to speak. Bless you guys :) |

#7 Oh I agree newsc - what COL West did was proper and what a officer is supposed to do - take care of his men even if it's at the expense of the enemy. But that is not what will be shown by the media or hollywood (most of which simply cannot comprehend the concept of 'taking care of your men'). They will twist it around so it shows West as someone who tortured and trampled the rights of the poor, misunderstood, (pardon me - I have to go clean my hands after typing that...) |

#6 Romney: Wouldn't Be "Honest" Of Me To Call RomneyCare A Mistake |

#5 Romney, the next RINO in line: How'd Bob Dole and John McCain work out. "At a recent stop at the Harvard Club in New York City, for example, hedge-fund titan John Paulson introduced him to a crowd of about 125 that included former Goldman Sachs Group Chairman John Whitehead and a number of prominent hedge-fund and private-equity managers." |

#4 "I really like West too. However I'm afraid that the Lamestream Media and hollywood will twist what happened with him in Iraq into the second coming of Adolf Hitler." What the COL did was take care of his Soldiers at the expense of the enemy. A true leader indeed. I would be happy with Cain - really happy. A T-PAW would be great on the tix as well as West. I love them all. I picked Cain because he is a communicator, and not part of the club. Just awesome that they all have a chance. Never believe anyone who says not. We must pick the correct candidate this time. I believe Cain would nail the stupid a-hole to the wall in a debate. |

#3 I really like West too. However I'm afraid that the Lamestream Media and hollywood will twist what happened with him in Iraq into the second coming of Adolf Hitler. It'll be a total lie (since when has that stopped the MSM) and complete and total bullshit. But enough people would be stupid enough to actually believe it. Just look what they did to Sarah Palin. |

#2 Romney would be better than Obama, but he is still a Massachusetts Republican which means he loves to spend (See country club Republican or RHINO) and we wouldn't get the reforms we desperately need. Looking at Pawlenty and Cain myself. Although West on the ticket would make me very happy. |

#1 He's got the lowest numbers of any GOP "frontrunner" in modern history - meaning we all know who he is and mostly we don't like him. Personally looking at Pawlenty and Cain. |
