Iran: 'Gaddafi fate lesson to regional tyrants'
2011-08-23
[Iran Press TV] An Iranian politician says the fall of Libyan dictator Muammar Qadaffy's
...who single-handedly turned a moderately prosperous kingdom into a dictator's fantasyland...
last bastion and the detention of two of his sons should serve as a lesson to regional authoritarian regimes.
Naturally the regime of the Medes & the Persians is neither regional nor authoritarian...
Member of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Mohammad Karamirad told ISNA on Monday that Qadaffy chose to kill his own people in order to stay in power for a while and "this resulted in the ruthless killing of civilians and the loss of his children."
Totally unlike what happened in Iran after their last "election," of course...
He added that the fall of the Qadaffy regime serves as a bitter lesson to dictators in regional Arab countries.
There are no dictators in regional Persian countries, though. Certainly not. And they're not talking about Syria, either...
Lebanon never once came to my mind...
The Iranian politician pointed out that former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
and the embattled Libyan ruler served the interests of arrogant powers against their own nations.
Unlike Iran, which aspires to her own arrogance...
He expressed hope that Libyans can determine their own fate without the interference of other countries.
No doubt they'd welcome a helping hand from non-Arab regional powers, though...
On Monday, tens of thousands of people erupted into the streets across Libya to celebrate the arrest of Saif al-Islam and Mohammed, two of Qadaffy's son, by opposition fighters.
Nobody would turn out in Teheran to celebrate Ahmedinejad being jugged, or Khamenei...
Libyan fighters, who managed to reach the highly symbolic Green Square in the center of Tripoli early on Monday, also waved the red, black and green flag of anti-regime forces and danced in obvious joy.
Curiously, the red, black, and green flag of the anti-regime forces is also the flag of the seldom lamented King Idris, who was entirely too easy-going and pro-Western for the tastes of Qadaffy and his peers.
The revolutionary forces swept into the heart of Tripoli early Monday and seized the control of most of Libya's capital city without facing significant resistance from regime forces.
Loyalists forces will be changing into civvies about this time. The werewolves among them will try to keep going as a "resistance."

#5  Pot meet Kettle. Heh. This whole battle is probably a diversion while Daffy and a sh*tload of gold and loot head for Venezuela and retirement. At least that is what Billy Bones told me.
