#8  An important note is that the ethnic Turkish birthrate has dropped "below replacement", European style, but the Kurdish birthrate is still high, at 3-6 children per family.

This means that while right now, about 70-75% of the population are Turkish, and only 18% are Kurds, in a few generations they will be much closer to parity.
