| Very sad, but there is a reason why the US does not use Bradley Fighting Vehicles in Afghanistan. V shaped hulls save lives. The technology is not new. |

| #4 As an aside, if a vehicle, ANY vehicle.... hits a pressure plate or remotely initiated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) containing more than 100 lbs of homemade explosives (HME), it will not be a good day. As little as 40 lbs of HME will make an Afghan Army Ford Ranger pick-up truck unrecognizable. |

| #3 The current family of armored wheeled vehicles MRAP, MAXPro, etc. can be heard coming as well. Along with the politically incorrect 20mm gun, mobility (getting them to the fight), fuel, and maintenance on tracked vehicles are other downsides. Thank God and the US taxpayer our soldiers have the best! |

| #2 If I recall correctly, press accounts indicate that Bradleys did pretty well in Iraq. From Wikipedia: In the Iraq War, the Bradley has proved somewhat vulnerable to improvised explosive device (IED) and rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attacks, but casualties have been light—the doctrine being to allow the crew to escape at the expense of the vehicle. As of early 2006, total combat losses included 55 Bradleys.[12] The main problem is that they were noisy (could be heard from distance, making surprise visits difficult), expensive to operate and serious gas hogs. |
