| Somalia: Puntland security forces capture men with explosives |

| (Sh. M. Network) -- The police forces of theSomalia's northern semi-autonomous region of Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... on Tuesday said they had seized men carrying with a number of bombs in Bosaso operations, reports. I just keep getting fonder and fonder of Puntland... The security officials of Puntland said that these operations which are aimed to assure the overall security situation in the coastal and commercial city of Bosaso town will continue. "We discovered large amount of improvised bombs (IEDs) and spoilers against the peace at some villages and neighborhoods of Bossaso town on Tuesday morning during the search operations. The forces will not stop hunting down such people all over the region," the officials said. |
