| MQM seeks action over thrashing of teachers |

| [Dawn] The Muttahida Qaumi Movement ...English: United National Movement, generally known as MQM, is the 3rd largest political party and the largest secular political party in Pakistain with particular strength in Sindh. From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead... strongly condemned on Wednesday the incidents of violence against teachers in different educational institutions in the city and demanded that the government bring the elements involved in such incidents to book. The MQM coordination committee said that the use of unfair means in exams was very unfortunate and "myrmidons belonging to a students' group patronising the activity wanted to deprive students of education". It called upon the governor and the chief minister to look into the cases of use of unfair means and the use of violence by a group. |
