[Shabelle] (Sh.M.Network)-The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Mission (AMISOM) and Somali forces on saturday, put on view today the Media to the areas recently liberated from Al shabab Death Eaters linked with Al Qaeda.

The journalists were showed the areas like Carbiska, Afgoye district and several other villages nearby Afgoye. During the visit, journalists escorted to Beert Sheikh Zaid and Afgoye Bridge where Al shabab have had military bases.

People's Movements and transport have returned to normal after the town fell to Somali and AU forces on Friday.

Brigadier Paul lokech, the commander of Ugandan contingent of AMISOM briefed the media as follows:

1-We launched this offensive in the last three-days and the general intend was to insure the capture Afgoye town, which is southern strategic town it opens the corridor of parts of Somalia regions.

It is going to give us access to areas like, Marca and Jowhar to liberate them all from Al shabab orcs.

2-it going to enable for delivering the humanitarian aid reached to the needy people.

3- This was a stronghold of Al shabab and the command and control centre for Al shabab and in fronted necessary it to extend our future operations.

Of course it took us three days to capture it because we wanted to avoid the civilian casualties in Elasha and Lafole areas.

Today we are here in Afgoye and the operation still continuous to progress to other areas in Lower shabelle region and middle and short as possible.

My messages therefore to Somali fighters who are still with Al shabab come out and take this opportunity and join your brothers, this is only opportunity you still have build your country.

The imported muscle you are unfortunate, we are going to take you to the justice.

"The civilian population in Afgoye today you are liberated and you are free from Al shabab," he added.

On his side, General Abdikarin Yusuf Dhagabadan, TFG's top military commander, told Media that both Somali and AMISOM gained a tangible victory over the fighting against Al shabab.

He also told news hounds in the liberated area from the cut-throats that the allied forces have managed on Friday to capture Afgoye, 30km south ofMogadishu, where Al-shabab fighters have been using as a military camp to organize guerilla-style attacks.
