slammed on Friday the liquidation attempt against MP Butros Harb, condemning the return of "such incidents that only serve to create instability in Leb."
Harb is a member of the March 14th movement and has called for Hezbollah's arms to be controlled by the government. He was also prominent in the Cedar Revolution. My guess would be that Iran ordered him rubbed out and that the attempted murderers were Hezbullies. I'm also guessing the investigation will be quietly dropped, just like the Geagea assassination attempt.
He said after meeting the politician at the Baabda Palace: "The security and legal authorities have received strict orders to work on uncovering the details of the case in order to reveal the perpetrators."
Whether they ever make their findings public is another matter entirely...
Harb had informed the president of the details of the liquidation attempt and the leads he has so far on the matter. He stressed the importance of following up on this issue "for the sake of Leb's security."

... which may or may not amount to anything, since members of the security forces may or may not have been involved in the attempt. It's Leb, so usually you're not sure...
Harb escaped an attempt on his life on Thursday when residents of the building in which his office is located discovered individuals trying to booby-trap the building's elevator.
Presumably the individuals will be in custody. The vigorous application of a #7 truncheon should help the miscreants discuss who their controllers are.
