StratRisks: Reading Israeli tea leaves regading an attack on Iran..
2012-09-09

#10  Just offhand, what do the Tea Leaves as per an IRAN ATTACK AGZ ISRAEL, not the other way around, iff one believes that Rising Iran is feeling the US-led containment heat in the Persian Gulf + Middle East like Rising China vee the US = US-Allies in East Asia???

As a major Oil State, strategic defensive-minded Iran should be able to handle or pull through the worst possible UN Sanctions, BUT YA NEVER KNOW WHEN "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - TIME FOR ACTION/WAR" FOR IRAN???

Lest we ferfit, among other IMO Islamist Iran is testing the popular premises of post-Cold War "Globalism", i.e. is it "real change" from the Western = Zionist-Crusader Imperialism of the past, or is it just Sameo Sameo/Status Quo wid a new cover story. WILL THE PREDOMINAN JUDEO-CHRISTIAN US-WEST WILLINGLY GIVE UP + SHARE POWER + AUTHORITY WID WORLD NON-JUDEOCHRISTIANS, OR IS "GLOBALISM" JUST SO MUCH FAKE HYPE???

* IRAN = iff Jewish Israel + Other can have Nuclear Weapons, etc. so can Muslims + Muslim Nations; + iff the Sunni KSA can't or won't do it, SHIA IRAN WILL.

#9  War does not determine who is right, only who is left. Hopefully it will be the Jew.

#8  Chances are that if you were to look inside the war planning room in Israel ... the best plan has been set aside. Either that, or it has been mangled beyond recognition by too many changes.

Why ... because too many cooks spoil the broth.

So while the rest of the world ponders ...
Will Israel hit Iran first?
Will Iran hit Israel first?

deep inside the Israeli command center there is probably a colonel who is praying that the top echelon of his own command structure gets HIT BY A BUS - just so he can go and do the job properly :-)

#7  They should only depend upon competent decision makers

True, plus a host of variables, calculated for, but beyond control of the planners.

#6  Indeed Besoerker. I have to say that if Israel manages to execute a brilliant strategic plan in the middle of this mess ... then they all deserve medals. I'm afraid we're going to see something that falls short of the mark. They need a lot more than just "a plan".

#5  The execution of a sound, well thought out OPLANs [operational plans] should not be dependent upon specific personalities. They should only depend upon competent decision makers.

#4  So they are either definitely gonna do it, or definitely not. Maybe. I'm glad we've cleared that up.

#3  Just doing what comes natural, Raider.

#2  Have to make this observation about Israel: EITHER Israel is in the most confused state that I can ever recall before a major war ... OR this is the most brilliant disinformation campaign they have ever launched. Not sure which ... but suspect the former option. Does not bode well.

#1  ...announced a number of new high-level military appointments which had previously been delayed amid the war preparations. As a prominent Israeli analyst put it, “You donÂ’t appoint a brand new operations chief when youÂ’re about to go to war.” [1]

So the War Preparations are complete?
