| #20 agreed EC. It is not actual American Territory. It is land granted by the hosting government for diplomatic relations and practices, such as issuing Visas, and diplo functionc, Perhaps the distribution of foreign aid should be tied to our Diplo safety, i.e.: None |

| #19 Little correction. Embassies on foreign soil are not "sovereign territory" of the respective state occupying them. It is just a territory that authorities (or anyone else) of the host state may not enter without permission of the chief of mission. The host state technically still enjoys full sovereignty, also in legal matters happening inside the compound. |

| #18 When you encourage something you get more of it and when you discourage something you get less of it. The nutters attack the US embassies in Libya and Egypt. They get media coverage and get to look pius to their fanatical co-lunatics as they 'stick it' to the Americans. They pay no price personally. This is encouragement. Is anyone surprised that another embassy was attacked? The embassy is sovergn US territory. Defend it. Start killing fanatics if they attack it, and not just a few of them. Open fire and don't stop until everyone is either dead or out of range. There are no innocents in a mob. Kill them all. This would be personal discouragment. |
