In which Glenn Greenwald pretends that he is a stopped clock and gets one right.

#2  While I typically favor the pointing out of double standards on the Left and Right, virtually every example of right-wing suppression of free speech cited by GG is directly connected to the Obama administration in some way. Curious.

Regardless, GG misses the larger point, in my opinion. Free speech should be exactly that, free. However, the fundamental question not being asked here is this: When does tolerating the intolerant become intolerable? At what point do you have to take someone at their word and take the necessary steps to protect yourself?

#1  Except Glenn, free-speech doesn't really exist in the Muslim Mideast. And Glenn, expressions of dissent in the street usually have some islamist group behind them playing them like a fiddle. These gatherings quickly escalate to burning, looting, rape, and murder.
