Protests in Tokyo against US Osprey aircraft |
2012-11-04 |
Thousands of people have rallied against American deployment of Osprey military aircraft on a southern Japanese island amid escalating anti-U.S. military sentiment following recent crimes. Protesters gathered Sunday at a Tokyo park demanding removal of 12 MV-22 Osprey hybrid aircraft from Okinawa. Ospreys were deployed in October despite local opposition over safety concerns following two crashes elsewhere. They chanted, "Ospreys out! Marine Corps out!" |

#1 Okinawans, etc. may want the US to leave, but the Japanese Diet = Govt. prefers the US to remain until Japan can formally rearm + dev its own NucWeaps. Many Chinese Politicos, Perts + Bloggers recognize the above, = desire for "post-US", future World #1 Rising China to attack-iff-not-destroy Japan before it devs NucWeaps = indogenous NucArsenal, or otherwise to finally permamently resolve the various sovereignty issues in the East + South China Seas before it does. ----------------- VARIOUS .... * CHINESE MILITARY FORUM > KEY PHRASE [PCorrect/Polite-but-firm "War Warning"? = historic] USED IN PEOPLE'S DAILY EDITORIAL, of 10/17/2012 as used just prior to 1962 Sino-Indian War + 1979S Sino-Veitnam War. > IS JAPAN HIDING UNDER THE US [Nuke, Military]UMBRELLA? > [Xinhua] JAPANESE VESSELS EXPELLED FROM DIAOYU ISLANDS WATERS. >[ Global Times] CHINA AVOIDS DIAOYU MEDIATION ATTEMPT BY US DELEGATION, arguing that the US has failed to demonstrate any sincerity [or neutrality] in supporting or defending China's side of the issue. > [Global Times = 10/29/12] OP-ED:SHADOW OF WAR HAS NOT YET DISAPPEARED FROM EAST ASIA. * TOPIX > CHINESE VESSELS TEST "AUTHORITY" NEAR SENKAKUS. > WHY THE JAPAN-CHINA SENKAKUS ISSUE IS THE MOST EXPLOSIVE ISSUE IN ASIA. > PM NODA SAYS JAPAN MUST IMPROVE ITS DEFENSES. > THE DANGEROUS MATH OF THE JAPAN-CHINA ISLAND/HIGH SEAS DISPUTE. China's long histoire' of doing the unexpected, i.e. doing what the West often refuses to believe, espec as per its utility of military force. THE US-WEST MAY ONCE AGAIN BE SERIOUSLY UNDERESTIMATING CHINA'S RESOLVE TO UNILATERALLY SETTLE ITS DISPUTE WID JAPAN USING BLUNT MILITARY FORCE, TO INCLUDE THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS, + DESPITE JAPAN HAVING THE SUPERPOWER US AS ITS ALLY. * DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > CHINA THREATENS JAPAN WID NUCLEAR ANNIHILATION, warning that recent Japanese wargame = war scenario where PLAN Fleets are destroyed fails to take into account the power of China's strategic and tactical LRBMS. * TOPIX, WORLD NEWS > EX-TOKYO GOVERNOR WANTS TO START A MILITARIST, ANTI-CHINESE POLITICAL PARTY. Shintaro Ishihara. Again, as per Ishihara's call for Tokyo to permanently-n-forever settle the sovereignty issues in the East China Sea, + DESPITE CHINA'S CRITICISMS, he isn't doing what many Nationalists = Right-Wingers, etal. in Japan, China, + elsewhere in ASEAN = East Asia themselves would like to see. DITTO FOR REGIONAL LEFT-WINGERS OR LEFT-LEANERS. |
