#3 Ironically, Johnson was a Dem, or what we might today call a "Blue Dog Democrat". More irony, he was hand picked by Lincoln and saw the danger in a Federal mandates from a large federal bureaucracy. The man was ahead of his time...? No, he was motivated by the desires and intent of the founders and the constitution! He was a military veteran and learned man. Would that we had more like him in Washington today. |

#1 Tough competition. In the WaPo Jimmy Carter has written about a dozen op eds. Al Gore has written a half dozen. Hamas bigshots have written op eds. |
