| #9 The problem with that Detroit project is that it will be done with "other peoples money" and using union labor. Also they are making the same design mistake of cramming a bunch of people into one location. Any savings generated by using the steel of the containers will be lost in the spiff up process and the following maintenance nightmares. |

| #8 I own two of these actually (plus a slightly smaller "off spec" container I use for a shop and a 1000 square foot "pig reefer" I use for food storage). I think think they should work fine. An 800-square-foot living or work space is small, but not unlivable. And they should be bullet proof enough for what gets tossed around in Detroit. |

| #5 SMALL shipping containers. Often referred to as "dog kennels" by the occupants - not much larger than a kennel, either :-). Usually set up in old warehouses and hangars. Cost effective for the Army. Demoralizing for those on duty. |

| #4 You could buy a pile of Grayhound bus tickets to NW Dakota for the price of one of these, and there are lots of jobs there (and you'd still get to live in a shipping container.) Only problem is you have to be willing to work hard and able to pass random drug tests. |

| #3 For a fraction of the money spent on this, there could be an ad campaign urging people to move somewhere viable. The same people making the ads urging illegal aliens to sign up for food stamps and welfare could be engaged. They understand the target audience... |
