| Fighting erupts in Kufra |

| [MAGHAREBIA] Clashes between Toubou tribesmen and Libyan government forces at the week-end left two people dead in the restive Kufra region, PANA reported on Tuesday (February 26th). Some 100 policemen and thirty vehicles were deployed in the town last week as part of the government's reconciliation efforts. On February 7th, leaders from the Toubou and Zuwayya tribes began reconciliation talks in Tripoli. Ethnic clashes between the two groups led to hundreds of deaths last year. |
