As per FREEREPUBLIC, Russian investors are allegedly claiming "the US is already Cyprus", hhence their decision to instead put their $$$ in Crete.

#6  As with all the PIGGS, the EU set standards for economic responsibility, but never enforced them, so now they are stuck with these bankrupt systems.

The US is becoming one big Cyprus, too. When you let irresponsibility go on so long, there are no good solutions except large amounts of pain. Like bankruptcy.
