FBI Says 'Terror Attack' Thwarted in Rural Minnesota |
2013-05-07 |
[An Nahar] The FBI said Monday it has thwarted a terror attack in a small town in Minnesota after discovering home-made bombs and guns in the home of a local man. The agency provided few details, saying the investigation into Buford 'Bucky' Rogers, 24, was "ongoing." "The FBI believes that a terror attack was disrupted by law enforcement personnel and that the lives of several local residents were potentially saved," the agency said in a statement. "The terror plot was discovered and subsequently thwarted through the timely analysis of intelligence and through the cooperation and coordination between" multiple law enforcement agencies, the FBI said. Investigators found Molotov cocktails, "suspected pipe bombs" and a Romanian AK-M assault rifle during a search of Rogers' home on Friday in Montevideo, a town of fewer than 6,000 people in western Minnesota. Rogers, who has a conviction on burglary charges, is prohibited from owning firearms but admitted to having fired the assault rifle on two occasions at a nearby gun range, according to charging papers. He was placed in durance vile You have the right to remain silent... "without incident" on weapons charges. |

#3 Must be from Spokane. Too bad they mirandasized him. Now they won't be able to discern if he was part of a larger network and the real non-Muslim threat to America. The problem with the label terrorist is it lacks a definition, in the context of the current WOT. So who qualifies for that club? Glad to know the Alphabet Agencies have resources to find this clown while the real threat lives right under our noses. I feel safer. |
