| Karachi bans political gatherings and display of weapons |

| [Dawn] Sindh's Provincial Home Department issued a notification on Monday imposing Section 144 which bans all political gatherings and waving guns in the city. All carrying permits for licensed weapons stood cancelled after the notification. Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf ...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations.... supporters on Sunday staged a demonstration at the Teen Talwar roundabout in Clifton protesting against what they described as massive rigging during the May 11 vote.The protest demonstration was joined in later by Pakistain Musselmen League-Nawaz and Awami National Party supporters. |
