#10  I'd like to hear what the preparers of this return say about it - that's why you pay guys like us to do this stuff for you.

It's always useful to have an expert opinion on the subject. Thank you for posting, Raj.

#9  I don't think it is even POSSIBLE to correctly fill out the tax forms once you are in his tax bracket.

#7  This is terrible! How does Obama expect the IRS to investigate the Tea Party if he doesn't give them enough money?

#5  1) I'd need to see the W-2 to be sure if income was underreported or not reported.

2) There may be differences in IL state law that excludes certain types of income, like the stipend, part of which may be a per diem for meals , travel, etc. Would be nice for the article to mention that, I'd think.

3) I think the discussion of fraud is way, way overblown in this article, especially for an eight year old tax return, well past the statute of limitations for amending / auditing (but not for fraud - no statute applies there).

4) I'd like to hear what the preparers of this return say about it - that's why you pay guys like us to do this stuff for you.

Other than that, good article...

#1  Of course if he and FLOTUS were to decide to retire and immigrate elsewhere, the "Leadership Stipend" of over $8,000. could be forgiven. The IRS is very flexible these days. If visas are required, let us know which passport you'll be using. Please decide quickly, preferably before the next scandal.
