| Hotel bomb wounds six in southern Thailand |

| Six people were wounded in a bomb explosion at a hotel in Narathiwat province's Sungai Kolok municipality yesterday as police named two guests as suspects. The blast happened on the third floor of the Asia Hotel about 11 a.m. No one suffered life-threatening injuries. Two 19-year-olds were taken to Sungai Kolok police station for questioning after the blast. In Narathiwat's Rueso district, a village defense volunteer was gunned down in front of his house at about 3 p.m. yesterday. A pickup truck pulled over in front of his house and two of the four men in the vehicle called the victim to come out. When he showed up, one of the men dragged him out of the house. He was then shot at point-blank range with an M16 rifle. |
