| Wave of car bombings in Baghdad kill at least 21 |

| At least 21 people were killed and 66 others injured in a series of car bombings in Baghdad on Thursday. The attacks occurred almost simultaneously during Baghdad's rush hour. One car bombs went off in the crowded district of Alawi, near the Green Zone, killing four people and injuring 12. Another car bomb tore through a parking lot in Baghdad's northern district of Kadhmiyah, killing seven and injuring 20 others. Meanwhile, a car bomb detonated in Bab al-Mu'dham area in downtown Baghdad and killed five people and injured 13 others. A fourth car bomb blew up on al-Qanat Street in the eastern part of the capital. Also, a car bomb struck the district of Shurta al-Khamsa in southwestern Baghdad, killing three people and injuring 11. |
