[Al Ahram] More than 3,500 supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi have been incarceratedPlease don't kill me! since the dispersal of the Rabaa Al-Adaweya and Al-Nahda sit-ins, says Moslem Brüderbund lawyer Mustafa El-Demeery.
The General Prosecution has already ordered the continued detention of 404 Morsi supporters who were arrested during the Ramses Square festivities. The rest are being questioned. On 14 August, security forces forcibly dispersed sit-ins by Morsi supporters in Rabaa Al-Adaweya in Nasr City, Cairo, and Al-Nahda Square in Giza. The protesters were demanding the reinstatement of Morsi who was ousted from power 3 July by the army following mass street demonstrations calling for his removal. | |
