Kenya mall death toll lowered to 62: Red Cross |
2013-09-24 |
[Al Ahram] Red Cross officials said Monday the number of people killed in Kenya's bloody shopping mall siege was 62, seven lower than previously reported, due to "double counted bodies". Kenyan officials say their troops are in control of all floors in the complex, but are still fighting remaining insurgents. |

#4 I'll always believe the hunt for OBL was more of a shopping trip than a hunt. |

#3 In their fanaticism they might not be the brightest in the world, but they did see the Americans systematically hunt down and kill OBL and in doing so degrade a lot of their fellow jihadists with extreme effectiveness. That usually induces people to try for other lower hanging fruit. They also understand the 'game' that as long as they 'do in Rome as the Romans do', its a safe haven that provides food, shelter, etc beyond anything they could obtain in the 'old country'. Then there's the victim claim which pretty much is reserved for the indigenous people rather than new comers. Hard to get worked up about defending something that never existed in their knowledge for hundreds of years after their conquest of Christian lands to claim as 'ours'. |

#2 Serious question: Is there some reason I'm missing that this sort of thing HASN'T happened here yet? Are there no Islamoslime here? Can they not get the AKs and Boom-makers? Are the DHS really doing so good a job that they can't get together here? Or, are they afraid of what they might unloose? |

#1 I just caught someone on the radio a few minutes ago saying the count would go much higher. Something about more explosions. |
