Tajik State National Security Committee (GKNB) last month killed the Afghan leader of a trans-national crime group, media reported October 18, citing the GKNB press office, which released the news one month after it occurred. The GKNB identified the dead man as Gulom Rabbani waladi Bekmuhammadnazar, born in 1981. GKNB forces killed Rabbani in a shootout in Farkhor District, Khatlon Oblast, Avesta.tj reported the GKNB as saying. His accomplice was injured and escaped back into Afghanistan, the GKNB added, saying its forces found a Kalashnikov automatic rifle, ammunition, two mobile phones and 12.5kg of drugs at the scene. Rabbani's crime ring smuggled drugs from Afghanistan for a long time, the GKNB said. Rabbani didn't pay his 'protection?' Or got outbid by a competitor? |
