#4  "Channel 2 reports attack's target were S-125 surface-to-air missiles. ... Satellite images of the area obtained by Channel 2 show the Russian-made Neva missiles, as well as a SA-3 missile battery, that also includes a command center with a radar to track the missiles' targets and broadcasting anthenas to track the missiles as they are launched. The missiles have a range of 35km. and a 70k. warhead."

#3  tipover,

If I read the article correctly--if it's written correctly--the AT weapons involved seem to be the guided type. Like a TOW, possibly even a Javelin.
A pile of those would be more interesting than a pile of RPGs.
'course, the question is whether the article got the details right.

#2  If the IDF made this strike I suspect that there were more than just rpg's on site. Or perhaps it was defending a "target of interest" to the IDF.

#1  Air base or air defense base? Why would either one have a bunch of anti-tank missiles?
If it were AT missiles as targets, who's got tanks to worry about? IDF. OTOH, in 2006, the paleos had enough AT missiles to use them as anti-personnel weapons, at least at strong points or groups of IDF soldiers.
Rebels don't have tanks.
IOW, not much beef to this report.
