Family murdered in Benghazi car blast |

[Libya Herald] A member of the 17 February Brigade, Sulaiman Ahmed Al-Fsaee, and his family were killed today when an bomb beneath their vehicle exploded. Fsaee and his nine year-old son died in the kaboom. His wife and two year-old child were rushed to Casualty, but they were in a critical condition and both died in the hospital, front man for the Benghazi Joint Security Room, Abdullah Zaidi, told the Libya Herald. The device went kaboom!in Benghazi's Arth Ghraish district at 5:15 pm this evening, Zaidi said. The vehicle was set alight by the blast and was completely destroyed, he added. |

#1 17 February Brigade was the militia (designated by the Libyan gov't for VIP protection) hired by the US State Department to provide security for the Benghazi consulate. Ostensibly disbanded after the consulate attack, it was still patrolling Benghazi as of early this year. 17 February may be at odds with Ansar al Sharia elements in Benghazi, hence the attack. |
