| Arson attack on Pirojpur AL office |

| [PRIMENEWS.BD] Pirojpur: Unidentified miscreants set afire the district unit Awami League office on the Sadar Road in Sadar upazila headquarters early on Friday. The fire erupted at the AL office at about 3:40 am and soon engulfed the entire office and adjoining Grameenphone customer care centre, said sources at Fire Service. Following information, fire fighting units rushed to the spot and tamed the flame after three hours of frantic efforts. Firefighters estimated the loss caused by the fire at about Tk 8/10 lakh. Deputy Commissioner AKM Shamimul Haque Siddique and Superintendent of Police SM Aktaruzzaman visited the spot. President of the municipality committee of the ruling party Advocate Alauddin Khan blamed BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men for the arson attack. |
