#2 Not likely to catch on. Needs to be framed incrementally to achieve any measure of success. It requires an over-arching political theme such as..... 'Income Inequality' or 'War on Poverty' for example. Bits added over time so as to nearly go unnoticed and not cause egregious paid to the poor bastids picking up the tab. It eventually becomes a sort of 'Bring and Buy' or church bazaar menu of benefits [except the recipients never actually Bring or Buy anything]. It's all free or nearly so; council housing, food cards, education, fones, electricity credits, mortgages, national health care, endless unemployment insurance, Earned Income Tax Credits, and employment preference....for the one or two who wish to work. It will work, you'll see. |
