| Four gunned down in southern Thailand |

| Three villagers and an assistant village leader were gunned down in two separate incidents in Yala province yesterday. In the first incident, witnesses say three villagers were sitting inside the shop when another four men arrived on two motorcycles. The gunmen approached the three villagers and shot at them with handguns and assault rifles before fleeing. The victims died at the scene. Police think the attack was carried out by terrorists The second shooting took place in Raman district, where an assistant village leader was killed. He was working in the rubber plantation when he was shot with a handgun, and he died at the scene. |
