| Intense clashes last night in Middle Shabelle | |

| According to news broadcasts from the Mahadaay district in the Middle Shabelle region reports of a fierce fight in the middle of the night after Al-Shabaab attacked a base where government troops were stationed within the district. Witnesses in the area told Shabelle that the fight was ongoing for hours and that unfortunately people were hit by the mortar shellings used by both sides in opposition to each other and it definitely caused death and casualties to Al-Shabaab, government forces and civilians. Mahaday district in Middle Shabelle is home to forces from the government and just recently AMISOM soldiers especially those from Uganda have vacated their presence in the district. The atmosphere this morning is so be perfectly normal and the lively spirit of the community have returned to their usual routines in Mahaday district in Middle Shabelle.
