15 Killed by Roadside Bomb in Kandahar
2014-04-09
[Tolo News] At least 15 non-combatants were killed by a roadside kaboom while traveling in southern Kandahar province on Monday evening, local officials said.

"A civilian vehicle hit a roadside kaboom in Kandahar province," Provincial Governor front man Dawa Khan Menapal said. "As a result of the blast, 15 non-combatants were killed, all were men."

The blast came after a relatively calm weekend in which no major attacks were reported as Afghans voted for a new president and provincial council members.

All the passengers of the vehicle were from southern Uruzgan province and were apparently traveling home in crammed in a pick-up truck when they struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election.
