| 15 Taliban Killed in Afghan Force Clash |

Nangarhar Police Spokesman, Hazrat Hussain Mashreqiwal, while confirming the incident said the clash occurred in Khoghyani district when a number of Taliban Death Eaters attacked an Afghan force convoy. "The incident took place when an Afghan force convoy was returning from a check post, when the Taliban attacked them," Mashreqiwal said. The clash continued for more than eight hours. There were no Afghan force and civilian casualties. According to Mashreqiwal three Taliban capos were among the killed. "The commanders who were killed in the clash are commanders Miraj, Hashmat and Grenade," Mashreqiwal said. Taliban Death Eaters have yet to comment about the clash. In a separate incident, three public order police were killed and two others were maimed Tuesday morning in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... province. Major Sher Agha, the district police chief of Heart, said that the incident occurred in Obe and Herat City highway when a public order police vehicle was hit by a remote control mine.
