Tennessee Brings Back Old Sparky
2014-05-24
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee has decided how it will respond to a nationwide scarcity of lethal injection drugs for death-row inmates: with the electric chair.

Republican Gov. Bill Haslam signed a bill into law Thursday allowing the state to electrocute death row inmates in the event prisons are unable to obtain the drugs, which have become more and more scarce following a European-led boycott of drug sales for executions.

#9  ^^^ Exactly, on the way to breakfast one random morning after final sentencing, notices sent, ash delivered C.O.D.

It's the Japanese way.
(not the COD part)

#8  A bullet in the back of the head is quick and nearly instant. And cheap.

Hell of a lot more humane that other methods that have been tried.

#7  For the old kunstande warning signage in SW Africa, you can blame the Russians and their SWAPO landmine campaign.

In Canada, they merely elect them to high office.

Can you say, 'Trudeau'?

Woot.

#4  Given that at any one time two thirds to three quarters of Americans want the death penalty, it's an obvious indication that we have long passed the stages of self rule and have accepted rule by the few to obstruct and stop justice. Meanwhile executions go on daily in our streets, our neighborhoods, our businesses and even schools. True innocents slaughtered.

When a state is unwilling to provide justice, the people will seek it out themselves. That is consider at threat to those who run the state even though they are the ones who by act or inaction create the consequence.

Sparky is not subject to obstructions of the FDA, just another brick in the wall of bureaucracy that has taken its powers well beyond anything it was intended to achieve political goals rather than its original function.
