Sessions Makes Leadership Pitch: If We Don't Secure Border 'We're Going To Lose Our Country'
2014-06-12
[BREITBART] House Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) is working to outflank GOP Whip Kevin McCarthy on immigration in the early stages of a clash for Eric Cantor's soon-to-be vacant Majority Leader slot, telling a group of news hounds that securing the border is a "huge focus" of his.

"I am going to focus on the border. I am going to focus on fixing the border. We are going to make sure that this administration gets closer, and closer, and closer to securing the border. And we're going to have to take us there. And if we don't, we're going to lose our country. We're going to lose who we are as a country," Sessions said.

Moments later, McCarthy exited the House chamber and declined to comment on the issue, saying "people have to announce before they talk."

The early and aggressive moves by Sessions underscore that immigration promises to be a volatile issue in leadership contests after a political neophyte economist deposed Cantor by attacking him on the issue in the primary race, prompting the current scramble for power.

#15  Alright. We need to get on the same page. I'm linking the Senator from AL, you're linking the Rep from TX. My error!

But, reading your page, it seems to me that Tex is not advocating what we think of as amnesty. More like a work card that doesn't lead to citizenship. If they want citizenship, they go home and get in line.

#14  KBK. You are linking to his web site of LIES.

Here is a link to the truth. Dems have trouble getting elected in Texas, so Pete Sessions is their go to liberal in the closet guy.

#12  Bubba: No. Rep. Sessions is one of the best.

He's for closed borders and is firmly against ACA.

#11  Kevin McCarthy isn't much better.

The absurdity of electing Kevin McCarthy to replace Eric Cantor as House majority leader

#10  Pete Sessions is a LIAR!

He supports ObamaFacistCare and open borders. He says what people want to hear when trying to win a position them supports the dems when it comes time to vote in the chamber.

Tuberculosis carrying foreign nationals are being processed at military basis and then released in Texas. Works for the Regime and Sessions is busy trying to replace Cantor and Sessions will be as bad if not worse than Cantor.

#5  "And if we don't, we're going to lose our country. We're going to lose who we are as a country," Sessions said.

I've got news for you, Senator: we lost our country on November 4, 2008. It's gone.

#4  And when the war to reclaim it comes, and the left begs for mercy, remember to tell them "I had mercy and compassion, until you used it to destroy my country, so now you will just have to face what you created."

#3  We have already lost our country.

#2  I believe it has ready been lost. The labor participation rate is creeping lower and folks are screaming over the border with their hands out and their mouths open.

#1  George Soros has pushed "open borders." The left loves the concept but then again their concepts are a bit muddled and fuzzy and critical thinking doesn't seem to be their strong suit. For Obama it seems to be a political weapon to nail down votes. The unintended (or maybe intended) consequences of open borders is destabilization of countries and order.
