| #1 Baikonur is full of old, obsolete gear, and with the development of the next generation of boosters, about to be more so. When Russia built it, it was in their country. If they're going to build a new launch complex, it's hard to see why they they'd build it outside their own borders. It's also difficult to see why China would want it; they already have a complex that they use regularly. Unless they're planning to start an operation based on equipment that the Russians have decided is obsolete. |
