#2 Iraq, Syria and the rest of the middle eastern arab nations are the remaining errors from World War 1. They are the result of colonial input by the Euro powers in breaking up the Turkish empire. They are not nations, but collections of arbitrary lines decided by Euro diplomats, designed to provide controllability by colonial forces, not national identity. As such they pit tribe against tribe, which is the true nature of the entire conflict we are now seeing.
Break Iraq up. We should have done so in the first place, instead of putting corrupt Shia in charge of the whole thing - and allowing them to get revenge of some sort on the Sunni for the years of Saddam's misrule. |
