| Health practitioner shot dead in 'sectarian attack' |

| [DAWN] KARACHI: A health practitioner was rubbed out in an attack apparently on sectarian grounds in New Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... , police said on Sunday. They added that homoeopathic doctor Khalid Hasan, 55, was sitting at his clinic in New Karachi's Sector-5-E late on Saturday night when gunnies on a cycle of violence emerged there, fired shots and escaped. The bullets hit him and a patient, Mohammed Ismail, 25. They were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Dr Hasan was pronounced dead. Ismail's condition was stated to be out of danger. |
