2014-09-20 | |
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian Legislative Council member Riyadh al-Raddad, who represents Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, in the Paleostinian legislative body, was sentenced by an Israeli court to one year in prison, according to his family. Al-Raddad, 55, was tossed in the slammer Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! during a protest supporting Paleostinian prisoners, a relative told Ma'an News Agency. Paleostinian reports did not clarify the crimes or the specific court that reportedly sentenced al-Raddad. Paleostinian news agency WAFA reported in July that al-Raddad was arrested by the IDF, along with MP Fathi Qaraawi, in Tulkarm on July 14. Since the June kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the southern West Bank by a Hebron-based terror cell affiliated with Hamas, arrests of Hamas activists and leaders in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have risen sharply. According to the Paleostinian Prisoners Club NGO, at least 2,000 Paleostinians have been questioned or detained in demonstrations in support of Gazoo during Operation Protective Edge this summer.
