| Well known local cleric assassinated in Beledweyn town |

| Beledweyn (RBC) Unidentified armed men have shot and killed a well known local cleric in Beledweyn town, Somalia's central region of Hiiraan on Monday night, locals said. The gun men entered a mosque in the city centre where they have shot and killed the cleric Wardi Salah shorty before the Evening Prayer started, n elder Ali Mohamud told RBC Radio. The assassinated cleric was the Mua'zin of the mosque where his hooting took place. The full mosque turned into empty place after the shooting as the insiders begun to flee in shock after the attackers started shooting the Mu'azin giving the assassins, believed to be two young men armed with pistols a situation to escape from the area. |
