| #3 But high British military officials believe a “kill or capture’’ mission now would end in disaster because the fanatics’ forces are too strong. Maybe ISIS is too strong for the "capture order" given the military situation. The kill order could be given. I suspect, the Brits and Americans are trying to keep the hostages alive; otherwise they could be (or should be) killing large numbers of ISIS from the air. There is not much cover in this area to prevent this from happening. It doesn't seem like we have made daily life miserable for ISIS at this point. Pinprick operations seem to be the modus operandi. Are there any non-ISIS civilians left in Raqqa at this point? |
