| Four butchered for honour |

| [NATION.PK] At least eleven people, including three women, were murdered in eight different incidents in the provincial metropolis during Eid holidays, police and rescue sources said on Wednesday. A 40-year-old woman and her teenage daughter were butchered by their relatives in the name of honour in Naseerabad. Police have nabbed Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! the son and brother-in-law of the woman in connection with gruesome killings. Resident of Gopal Nagar, Mudassar along with his uncle Zulfiqar attacked his mother Rukhsana Bibi and sister Sidra Bibi at their house. They mercilessly beheaded both the mother and her daughter with a knife. Police reached the spot and arrested the alleged killers. Police have also registered a double-murder case against Mudassar and Zulfiqar on the complaint of husband of the dear departed woman. The complainant told the police Sherlocks that his 18-year-old daughter Sidra wanted to tie knot with a man of her own choice, adding that his wife was also in favour of her love-marriage. But the brother and uncle of Sidra were her strong opponents, he said. On the day of incident, they repeatedly stabbed Sidra and her mother and then beheaded them with a knife. The bodies were moved to the morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy. In another incident, a young woman and her brother-in-law were axed to death over an affair by their relatives in Chuhng. Resident of Manawali village, Riaz along with his sons attacked Ayesha Bibi and her paramour Sajjad at their house. Riaz, said to be a police official, got infuriated after witnessing his daughter and son-in-law in objectionable condition. He immediately called his sons who attacked the 'couple' and later axed them to death. Police reached the spot and removed the bodies to the morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy. Police have also arrested Riaz in connection with the double murder after recovering weapon from the scene of the crime. The alleged killer told the police that Sajjad was married to his elder daughter but he had developed illicit relations with his younger daughter. Further investigation was underway. In another double-murder incident which took place in Shafiqabad police limits, two men were rubbed out over a trivial monetary dispute. Police said that Fayyaz alias Phajja and Fayyaz alias Chiddi were rubbed out by Umair and his accomplice Javed in Malipura. The alleged killers were running a rent-a-bike shop in the locality. Umair and Javed exchanged harsh words with Fayyaz and his friend over the rent of a cycle of violence. Later, they took out pistols and opened fire on them. As a result, Fayyaz alias Phajja and Fayyaz alias Chiddi sustained multiple bullets wounds and was struck down in his prime while the killers fled the scene of the crime. Police have removed the bodies to the morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy and are investigating. A private security guard shot his colleague dead at the gate of Lahore Safari Park on Wednesday. Police sources said that Shakeel exchanged harsh words with Mumtaz over an issue of entry tickets. Later, Shakeel took out his gun and opened straight fire on Mumtaz, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The alleged killer fled the scene of the crime instantly. Police have registered the case and are investigating. The body of the security guard was shifted to a hospital. A 26-year-old rickshaw driver was tortured to death by five men in Qila Gujjar Singh. Resident of Data Nager, Nazeer Ahmed riding on his three-wheeler was on the way to Badami Bagh when he suddenly hit an eight-year-old boy near Bohar Wala Chowk. Muhammad Ateeq, father of the injured boy, along with his accomplices managed to capture the rickshaw driver. They brutally tortured the rickshaw driver who was struck down in his prime. Police have arrested Ateeq and are investigating. A 28-year-old worker was found tortured to death from a carpet-manufacturing factory located in Defence-C police vicinity on Eid day. Police have detained six factory workers including a security guard and are interrogating them in connection with the killing. The body was moved to the morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy. A 32-year-old FIA official was found dead from an apartment in Johar Town. Police Sherlocks said that Asghar Ali was shot in the head. The body was moved to the morgue autopsy. Police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers and are investigating. Meanwhile, ...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Nunzio had his hands full of angry bleached blonde... a 35-year-old man, unidentified so far, was found strangled from Hanjarwal. Police said that body, wrapped in a quilt and packed in an iron box, was lying at Shakir Chowk as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the box and contacted the police. They body was removed to the morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy. Police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers and are investigating to solve the murder mystery. |
