Bahrain opposition to boycott November polls
2014-10-13
Bahrain's opposition groups on Saturday announced a boycott of the upcoming parliamentary elections planned for November. Four opposition groups, including the main Al Wefaq, announced the decision that was taken after a joint meeting.
Since the opposition mostly represents Iranian catspaws this is good news...
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa set elections for a new 40-seat lower house of parliament for November 22. Municipal elections will be held simultaneously.

In May, the the Democratic Opposition Parties (NDOP) announced that it would boycott elections if political situations in Bahrain was not improved. The representatives of the opposition had said that the boycott would not be limited to the upcoming elections, but would apply also to any future election if political goals were not achieved.

They vowed to continue with their peaceful means to achieve their demands.

With this announcement, the election will be dominated by pro-government political societies.
