[DAWN] TAXILA: The local police on Wednesday claimed that they have foiled a terrorist plan and juggedDrop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! a suspect with large quantity of arms and ammunition allegedly to be used for disturbance during Muharram. Police chief DSP Saleem Khattak, while briefing media, said acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a car (bearing number RIZ-399) on Brahma Road and during search, recovered as many as 15 pistols of 30 bore and about 7,500 bullets. He said the suspect identified as Amjad Hussain, a resident of Fatehjang, was arrested. A case has been registered against the accused who has confessed to smuggling arms and ammunition from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa ... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central... (KP) to Punjab. He said after the incident, checking on entry and exit points had been further intensified. |
