| Afghanistan deputy governor shot dead in Kandahar |

| [Iran Press TV] The deputy governor of Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar has been killed by an unknown gunman on his way to a university class, local sources say. Abdul Qadim Patyal was quickly taken to hospital after he was shot on Sunday, according to Tawab Ghorzang, a local official. Officials at Kandahar's Mirwaiz hospital confirmed that Patyal died of serious wounds he sustained in the attack. "It is hard to believe that Patyal ... is no longer among us. Rest in peace," Ghorzang said in a post on his twitter page. |
